MEMBERSHIP
The FACC has a voluntary basis for membership; and membership is
crucial to its sustainability.
A private non-profit organization developed to monitor and report
marketplace activities to the public, funding for FACC activities
is primarily derived from business support.
Though the FACC has no legal powers to prevent scams, it provides
information about marketplace frauds, through reports to the public,
media releases and alerts. It works closely with law enforcement
agencies and provides them valuable information about potential
fraudulent activities and alerts them and the public. Such information
is also disseminated widely.
The FACC issues reports on Members as well as non-Members, and offers
mediation and arbitration to help solve consumer disputes, which
can save time and expense to both parties of going to court.
Why FACC membership makes good business sense?
PUBLIC CONFIDENCE
You gain public trust and confidence through the FACC's efforts
in helping the public recognize that legitimate firms care about
and are doing something to maintain their trust. Our job is to make
sure every rupee spent in our marketplace is spent with legitimate
businesses.
SELF-REGULATION
The FACC is committed to the concept of self-regulation as the healthiest
for business and consumers. Everything we do is designed to strengthen
reputable businesses and at the same time protect the public.
"If you don't regulate yourself, then somebody else will!"
MEMBERSHIP IDENTIFICATION PROGRAM
The statement that you're a member in good standing says, "I
am an ethical business who cares about my community and sound business
practices." An FACC logo or plaque prominently displayed at
your place of business, your website or in advertisements gives
a favourable first impression and a competitive advantage.
DISPUTE RESOLUTION SERVICES
As a participant, you will receive FACT's mediation and arbitration
services should a customer file a complaint against your company,
which is far less costly than utilizing the services of an attorney.
It also assures your customers that their concerns will be addressed.
CONSUMER EDUCATION
The FACC reduces the number of complaints by educating both businesses
and consumers. A problem may be resolved without a company ever
having to become involved because of action taken by the FACC.
